If your answer to any of the questions below is a ‘NO’ for the previous school year (i.e. September to August), the student’s status in the
program may be considered “Regular” (versus “Core”). The status may be reevaluated before the start of each school year.
1) We understand that Math Project curriculum is more challenging than average North American schools.
Is the student ahead of the Math Project curriculum for his/her grade level?*
2) Did the student get repeated Mandatory Homework Help Hours in the last school year?
3) Does the student complete the assigned homework on time on a weekly basis in an organized manner?**
4) Does the student pass Math Project tests within the first 2 attempts?***
5) Does the student participate in math contests when selected by the program administrators?
Notes:
*This is often the case with students who start young or work hard to catch up to the Core level.
** Math Project may be flexible with how much weekly homework parents want their children to be assigned. However, students must consistently complete the assigned homework to be considered ‘Core’.
***Administering frequent tests is costly for the Program. Students who work hard to pass on the first two attempts could be rewarded with the ‘Core’ status if all other conditions are met.
